Hittin' the Road

We're traveling to Montana to visit Chris'
grandmother,
aunt, uncle and cousins.
So I'll be out of commission
for almost two weeks.

But,
you'll have to check back
after the trip and
see all of the fabulous pictures
 and funny stories about
the trip.

Peace Out!

Favorite Things Friday!

This favorite thing is
 gonna blow.your.socks.off.

Seriously.
You might want to go ahead and take them
off right now.
Just in case they fly off
behind the couch.
And then you can't find them
Don't you hate that?

Want me to stop and get on with it?
Wanna know what this amazing thing is?
Are you sure? 'Cause I could
come back later...

Okay. Here it is:

http://i693.photobucket.com/albums/vv298/theliebertfamily/100_9480-1.jpg

It's this gorgeous starburst mirror.
BUT...
it's not any old starburst mirror.

You're never gonna guess
what it's made out of!

Seriously.
Don't even try to guess.
You'd just be wasting your time.
Instead, go check out how
Stephanie Lynn over at

made this amazing work of art.

Mmmmm....my favorite thing.

Our Only Child

The two older boys are in Wisconsin
visiting Nana and Papa.
Tiegan is our only child
right now.

In between trips out to the garage
to get things ready for the
garage sale I'm having
(starting tomorrow! EEk!)
we've been playing
a lot of hide-n-seek
and building with blocks.
Well... I build.
He tears them down!

What did I do with all of my
time when we only had one child?
Heck-- what did I do
with all of my time when we only
had two kids?

Thinking of simpler days today,
but thankful for the hectic
lives we have today.

Because...

...because his momma was born and raised in Texas.

...because he's fast and I don't feel like chasing him.

...because the two of us were pulling in two different directions.

...because that boy is a hard worker and loves to "blow long"

...because he never works so hard that he can't pause for some "cheese" time.

...because he's a goofy boy, and this is his idea of posing.

...because he dressed himself this morning.

...because our walk was disturbed by the rain.

...because these two big boys love their baby brother
and always take care of him.

Favorite Things Friday!

Oh, Glorious Friday!
How I've missed you!

I love this particular thing
so much.
I was garage sale-ing one
day and caught a glimpse of a
beautiful lake.
I was determined to find out how to
get over to it.
It's kind of hidden and
in a weird location.
Surrounded by gorgeous trees.

Now it's one of our favorite places to go.
We call it the Duck Pond.
There used to be dozens of ducks there and
we would go feed them.

(The path on the way to the the lake)

Now there's only a hand full of ducks, but we still
love going.
On this particular day we had a
picnic there.

Looks like somebody found
something interesting to
look at!

Daddy found something
interesting too!

Do you have a favorite duck pond
or place to picnic?

Have I ever told you how much
Carson loves to run upstairs
first thing in the morning
(especially when I'm yelling and screaming,
"Noooooo, Carson!")
to go play with Tiegan?

His favorite thing is to climb up
on the side of his
crib and talk to him and play with him.

No, I don't put my children to bed half-dressed.
Tiegan recently learned how
to take his shirt off.

(don't you love the face Tiegan is
making at Carson? I wonder what
he did to deserve this look!)

I used to take my time getting upstairs after
he ran upstairs, against my will.
You know...finish brushing my teeth,
or grab my robe.
Who knows...maybe even make
the bed.
(Yeah, right. You know me better than that!)

Well.
I will no longer be taking my
sweet time,
when Carson (aka- Houdini-Boy)
escapes and runs upstairs
against my wishes.

Why? You ask...

Remember when I made
these fabulous letters
for Tiegan's room?

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_9eXEKNCqerQ/S7EUTlg97iI/AAAAAAAABNc/becYoDHrT5c/s1600/IMG_4459.JPG

Well.
Now they look like this:

Guess who did this.
I'll give you a hint.
One of the boys can't reach the letters.

Yes.
Houdini-Boy
himself is responsible.

Lesson learned.

A Tent, A Kennel, and Breaking the Rules

We've got the end of the school year,
rainy day blues!

Today is supposed to be a fun day.
The first day of summer break.

I had plans of going to the beach and
having a picnic.

Yeah.
Not today.

Instead, we're stuck inside and
the boys are going stir crazy.
And so is Momma.

There's a lot of this
going on:

We normally have a rule.
No video games on week days.
They're only for the weekends.
Well.
Today Momma had to
bring out the big guns.

In case you didn't catch that...
he's watching TV and playing
his DSI.

Mother of the Year Award
right here, Folks!

We made a tent.

What kid doesn't love tents?
Apparently mine.

It entertained them for all of 5 minutes.

As I write this
Carson has crawled in Duncan's kennel.

Should I go get him out?

Hmmmmm...
it sure is quiet.

I'm just sayin'...

Favorite Things Friday!

Happy Favorite Things Friday!

I'm so excited to share this
week's Favorite Thing
Ohhhh...you just wait.
You're gonna be thankin' me
for this one, Girls!

So.
Tomorrow is the last day of school.
One of the things I dread about
the summer break is
 the constant pour
of neighborhood kids in and out of the
house.
Don't get me wrong. I'm glad
{and thankful}
that the neighborhood kids
want to be at our house.

But...
one thing about constantly having
company is that you end up
feeding a lot of kids.

A lot.

Well, my girl Stacey over at I'm a Lazy Mom
had such a fabulous idea.

Make a snack bin!
It's a no-fuss way of having all of
your snacks together in one place
{rather than spread-out
all over your pantry, like me}
so that when the kids come
running in on those hot
summer days, you know exactly what you have
and it just makes everything
so.much.easier.

After all...she is a Lazy Mom.
{and so am I!}

Here's how my snack
bin turned out.

It's my new
Favorite Thing!

The Beauty of a Book Club

When I grow up,
I want to be Kasey over at

You will not believe
what this girl just
throws together
(literally...not much time
or planning...just stuff she had
layin' around the house)
 for her book club

It's sick that some people
are capable of
doing that.

Just sayin'.

Say WHAT Now?

I've told you how much I love
to spray paint stuff,
right?

Pretty much if it's sitting
still in my house
for too long, it gets
spray painted.

(Hey. I can admit when I have a sickness.)

But, this just might
be a little over the top.

Add instant color

Yep. It is what you think it is.

Have an old couch?
Don't throw it away...paint it!

According to their website, it leaves the
fabric soft to the touch--
not hard, as you would think.

My only concern (well...one of my concerns)
would be fading over time.
Well...that and rubbing off on your clothing.

Hmmmm.
Would you ever try it?

Favorite Things Friday!

Hello, Friends!
Another Friday is upon us.
Oh, how I love Fridays.

Fridays usually mean I don't have to cook.
And I'm all about not cooking!
Tonight the hubs had a hankerin' for Culver's.
We are a Culver's family!
Ugh.
Love it.

But that's neither here nor there.
That has absolutely nothing to do with my
favorite thing
this week.
Although, Culver's could
easily be one of my favorite things.

My favorite thing this week is
At Macy's.

Take a look for yourself.
This is definitely one
of my favorites.
And this,
and

Oh...and this
{though I would personally wear
it with white leggings and
adorable flip flops. Can't you just
SEE it NOW?}

When you walk into Macy's, INC
is like it's own little boutique
inside of Macy's.
Oh, how I love me a good boutique!

So, whaduya say?
Do you luuuuuv
INC
as much as I do?

Choose Life

" A gossip betrays a confidence;
so avoid a man who talks too much."
                               Proverbs 20:19

How true is this?! We've all been in situations where our confidence has been betrayed. You tell someone you trust something that you just know is going to stay between the two of you. Of course, it doesn't stay between the two of you and then it has horrible consequences.

Throughout my life I've struggled with diarrhea of the mouth. I would like to think that I'm better about filtering what I say now than I was years ago, but it's a process.

"This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the LORD your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the LORD is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob."
                                                             Deuteronomy 30: 19

In every situation, every phone call, every conversation, every trial, we all have the ability to either bring life or death to the situation.

I want to be the person who brings life.
