Favorite Things FRIDAY!

Okay, first off,
how PROUD of me are you
that I actually got my act together
this week and posted on FRIDAY, rather than Saturday or Sunday?
We're making progress!

So, this favorite thing
should be required reading for all
couples before they get married!
Chris and I will be celebrating our
12th anniversary
in a few months!
(yes. I'm old...but I was 21 when we got married)
and I wish we had read this book
before we got married.
Heck...I wish we'd read this book after
five or TEN years
 of being married!
Men Are Like Waffles--Women Are Like Spaghetti: Understanding and Delighting in Your Differences [Book]
 It's funny, practical and
oh so helpful
when trying to figure out your spouse!
Side note: do you ever think that God designed
men and women so completely different
as a form of entertainment for him?
Seriously.
How can men and women be so
similar anatomically
(well...except for the obvious differences)
but be so thoroughly
different
in virtually every other way!
There is a funny part in the book when
describing men.
It talks about how men compartmentalize
every area of their lives into little boxes
(like a waffle).
So, there's work box, a home box,
a money box, etc. And then they have
some boxes that are just
empty!
 Excuse me????

How exactly can you have an
empty box?!

Then there's the woman, who is made so
completely opposite.
Every area of her life is connected to one another
(like spaghetti).
So, if you start talking to her about cereal,
it could invariably result in talking about a play that she
saw when she was 11!
Everything is connected!

Chris and I are having a good time reading it together
and laughing about our differences.
It certainly helps in the
communication department!

So, there you have it.
My favorite thing.
You should totally
You won't regret it!

 Have a fabulous weekend! =)
