Favorite Things FRIDAY!

Okay, first off,
how PROUD of me are you
that I actually got my act together
this week and posted on FRIDAY, rather than Saturday or Sunday?
We're making progress!

So, this favorite thing
should be required reading for all
couples before they get married!
Chris and I will be celebrating our
12th anniversary
in a few months!
(yes. I'm old...but I was 21 when we got married)
and I wish we had read this book
before we got married.
Heck...I wish we'd read this book after
five or TEN years
 of being married!
Men Are Like Waffles--Women Are Like Spaghetti: Understanding and Delighting in Your Differences [Book]
 It's funny, practical and
oh so helpful
when trying to figure out your spouse!
Side note: do you ever think that God designed
men and women so completely different
as a form of entertainment for him?
Seriously.
How can men and women be so
similar anatomically
(well...except for the obvious differences)
but be so thoroughly
different
in virtually every other way!
There is a funny part in the book when
describing men.
It talks about how men compartmentalize
every area of their lives into little boxes
(like a waffle).
So, there's work box, a home box,
a money box, etc. And then they have
some boxes that are just
empty!
 Excuse me????

How exactly can you have an
empty box?!

Then there's the woman, who is made so
completely opposite.
Every area of her life is connected to one another
(like spaghetti).
So, if you start talking to her about cereal,
it could invariably result in talking about a play that she
saw when she was 11!
Everything is connected!

Chris and I are having a good time reading it together
and laughing about our differences.
It certainly helps in the
communication department!

So, there you have it.
My favorite thing.
You should totally
You won't regret it!

 Have a fabulous weekend! =)

Shoe {love}

OMGsh!
I just died and went to heaven.

Do you like?

 Oh, you do?
That's nice, because I just
designed them!

Uh...YEAH!
Check out the coolest website ever:
where you can design and purchase
your creations!

Designing your own awesome shoes = easy.
Convincing your husband you should fork out $230
to purchase them = a little more challenging!

Favorite Things Sunday Edition!

Well, last week it was
Favorite Things Saturday Edition...
this week it's Sunday.
Next week, I wouldn't count on it being being before
Thursday!
A lot has happened this week.
Still going strong
with Weight Watchers,
even though birthday cake,
Valentine's Day
AND
Girl Scout cookies
threatened to sabotage me!
I'm proud to say that I lost four pounds this week,
but it's not really because I tried.

\
Thus the reason for the late post!I had the dreaded stomach bug,
I had the dreaded stomach bug,
thus the reason for my late post!

So, without further adieu:

My favorite thing this week
was today.
The boys played together so well!
They laughed, belly laughed, ran, cried a little
ran some more and laughed some more!

They made a pillow fort in the hallway.
Since they were playing so well together and
everyone was in a good mood, we decided
to have a movie night.

But what movie should we watch?
Nobody could agree.
  Until we came across
C.H.O.M.P.S. (DVD, 2009, DVD Cash) SEALED
Seems like a cute movie, right?
I mean...
{I should probably mention it was
made in 1979!}

Ummmm...
not so much!
It's rated G {not PG or PG-13}
and they said @$$ within the first
three minutes of the movie!
Seriously?
Rated G?
And there were burglars in ski masks,
which were kind of creepy.
So, we had to turn that off and had
to find something else to watch.
But by this time:

So, off he went to bed, and the other
two enjoyed movie night
with mommy and daddy.
It was a good day.
Feeling better after being
sick certainly has it's
perks!

Hope you had a great weekend too!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day, Kids!
I love Valentine's Day.
I always have.
{except for that one year that I boycotted it
and wore black to school. No. I wasn't

dramatic!
Whatever gave you that idea?}

When the boys woke up this morning
 they each had a surprise.

Then they had cereal.
(lucky charms)
and Cade spelled this out
for me with his
marshmallows!

Isn't he the sweetest?

Daddy got a surprise:

and Mommy got a surprise too!

good job, Daddy!

And then the boys had a healthy,
delicious breakfast of champions!

What the heck?
Valentine's Day comes once a year.
And besides all that, I need
all of this candy to go away...PRONTO!

So, eat up, Boys!

I had this sign taped to the mirror
so Cade would see it first thing this morning.

But he scratched out my name and added his
name and then gave it back
to me!
So sweet and thoughtful!

Hope you're having a wonderful
Valentine's Day
and that you're feeling very
loved today!

Favorite Things...SATURDAY edition

It is just me, or does it really mess with you
when the kids
have two days off from school?

On one hand, I love having Cade home,
but on the other hand, it completely
shifts our schedule around.

And, the two little ones are sick
with upper respiratory gunk.

As I type this Tiegan is following Carson around
screaming to the top of his lungs,
trying to get a toy away from him.
Good times.

So, on that note,
Happy Favorite Things SATURDAY! =)

This week, I have a smorgasbord of favorite things
 to share with you.

Item #1

I love it when my Hunny gets on the floor with
my babies. Makes my heart smile.

Item #2

Carson's 4th birthday is tomorrow!
Since Nana and Papa were in town we decided to have
his party two days early.

He's my...inquisitive, curious, active one.
He certainly keeps me on my toes!
And his momma sure loves him!

{with his new pillow pet}

Item #3

I found the perfect decorations for
his party at
The Dollar Tree

Don't you love when you find
exactly what you need for
$1, rather than $10?!

My favorite thing!

Hope you're having a wonderful
weekend!

Don't cry for me, Argentina!

I'm dieting.
I'm doing my very best to eat healthy.

But don't cry for me,
Argentina!

I've been eating the yummiest,
most flavorful ,
most scrumptious food I've eaten
in a looooong time.

Have I mentioned how much I love
Weight Watchers?

I'm a loser and I LOVE it! =)

Favorite Things Friday!

Alright, Kids!
Here we go!!!
I've missed Favorite Things Friday, but my
time away from the blog was much needed and
helped me to get my priorities in order.

One of the things that so desperately needed
to get in order was my weight.
It's been such a battle ever since I had my third
bundle of joy...two YEARS ago!

In the past I've had success counting calories and
on Atkins, but always felt deprived.
This time was different. I knew it wasn't just
about getting the weight off.
This time it had to be about getting healthy.
My family history is plagued with heart disease
and diabetes.

no. thank. you.

So, I followed the lead of my sister, brother-in-law,
and my mom, and decided to join
Weight Watchers.
I {love} it!!!

It's not at all about deprivation.
It's about choosing really smart things to eat
most of the time,
so that you can indulge on the
things you really enjoy eating
some of the time.
I've been following the plan for two weeks
and I'm already down
7.8 pounds,
thank you very much!
Here's a sneak peak at a few of
my favorite lunches I've had
lately.

   chicken, mushroom, yellow pepper and
zucchini fajitas with
Clementines.
Y.U.M!

Turkey, spinach and tomato sandwich on
whole wheat extra fiber bread.

I feel so much better, healthier
and more satisfied eating healthy.
{please remind me of this when I stray from the diet!}

Loving it.
Loving life.
Loving the way my jeans fit.
My Favorite Thing!

I'm Baaaaack!

So, what have I been up to for the
last 25 days?

the two little guys got to
build their own bears for the first
time with Nana and Papa.
 They LOVE them!

I'm pretty sure Carson played some
Jedi mind tricks on me.
 Tiegan threw lots of fits.

So I had to lock him up in a cage.
{totally kidding!}
 The boys were super silly.

I implemented the most ingenious way
to keep track of everyone's
socks in the laundry.
Idea courtesy I'm A Lazy Mom

Even the little Guy is getting in on the fun!
I {heart} Stacey!

And my Sweet Cade turned 8!
Ugh. I can't get over how big he is!
We had a blast at his party!

So, that's me in a nutshell.
Hope you've had a great month too!
